The child  p e e r s  from around the wall, WATCHING the man. She’s never seen him before, which meant he MUST be new. New people were always interesting, even if only for a little. So she watches, surveying the new guy with tentative eyes.

It’s strange, the boss always talks about the new employees, right in front of Freddy, so she always hears when someone’s been hired. But this time, there was no discussion, no  i n d i c a t i o n  that someone NEW had been hired.

          Strange.
